New Year: New Thinking

POP- UP Creative Writing Workshop January 25th

I have had a lot of requests from people who lead very busy lives looking for workshops that might fit into their schedules. The 9-5 workday is no longer a given and with people working longer hours they need something that is flexible to allow them to achieve that work life balance we are all in search of.

This year, I am introducing two new courses. The first, The POP- UP creative writing workshop, is a three hour long workshop that will deal with specific topics. It is stand alone and unlike my other course that take place over a series of weeks, this format allows the writer to “Pop In”. The workshop is interactive and fun. We will discuss lots of different creative writing elements that will help the writer to hone their skills and write in a more sophisticated way.

Together we will learn how to:

Identify genres and clichés
Begin reading like a writer
Look at language in a new and exciting way
Mess around with metaphors
Use the 5 senses to enrich your writing
And much, much more!

This workshop will suit the new writer looking to dip their pen into the creative writing world for the first time or the more seasoned writer looking to sharpen their practice.

Journal Writing Workshop

The second workshop that I am introducing this year is the Journal Writing Workshop.

Journal writing is a very specific kind of writing that can be cathartic and a wonderful place for the writer to reflect and respond to the things going on in their lives. This workshop will help the writer to develop a practice that suits them and a guide through a series of techniques and prompts to get started and hints and practices to develop the habit of daily writing.
